The school administration would have been happier if we had chosen, "When you walk through a Storm." I still receive peace when I hear this song.

This song lists three things I want for my life: to face my fears, love with all my heart and make a mark. My writing career is a ledge without a net.

This always seems to be true...

Who Am I? - I Am Woman! (1972)

I shouldn't have to give any explanation for this choice. It lifted and encouraged me on my darkest days for over forty years.

"Get on Your Feet" is a special song for me. It teaches me that community is where we are intended to be and where we will discover ourselves and our purpose.

Don McLean's beautiful melodies and meaningful words, encourage me to search for my own.  I would like write a line a memorable as 'the day the music died." He also introduced me to Vincent Van Gogh.

Valentines I've never known and invented lovers on the phone are still a part of my life, even though seventeen is long gone.

Caring for the earth has always been important to the boomer generation. This song spoke of those concerns in very graphic details.

In 1966-7, Simon and Garfunkel's The Sound of Silence and Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme were two of the first 'vinyl' albums I owned.

I want to believe there are 'still greater things to be done' in my life, my city, nation, world, and universe, all of which is a part of my vision for Sage and my writing.
