I was attracted to this book because… Long time John Grisham and Jake Brigance fan. Evidently, I can’t get enough of Mississippi courtrooms.

This book was about The conflicts of a good hearted man who has the natural skills and ambitions to take on the hardest of cases. And the constant conflict between justice and mercy.

Things I liked about this book Grisham grips your mind and your heart in this riveting legal story. He takes you inside the story, inside Jake’s mind to the point, you think you could handle the next car on the docket. You feel the emotions of every character in every scene. Another story where you don’t wan to stop to eat or sleep.

Why you should read this book If you believe the police should always be given the benefit of doubt, this is probably not the book for you. The concept of justice versus mercy are themes we need to be challenged for our boundaries for each. Another Grisham novel which keeps you involved, intrigued and desiring more than the last page.

This book lived up to the back cover copy The back cover copy has one of my favorite lines from the book. The few paragraphs put you into the courtroom and ready to turn the page.
